BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) is a combination procedure that augments and shapes the buttocks without implants, using entirely your own fat.
The procedure has two stages: fat is first removed via liposuction from areas such as the waist, abdomen, or flanks; this fat is purified and processed; it is then injected into strategic points of the buttocks.
Result: both the waist-hip line is slimmed and the buttocks gain a full, rounded, and completely natural look — the classic "hourglass" silhouette.

BBL Takes Place in Three Stages
Fat Harvesting (Liposuction)
Fat is removed using fine cannulas from the waist, abdomen, back, and flanks. This stage both supplies the fat source and refines your body contour.
Fat Processing
The harvested fat is purified using a specialized centrifuge system — only healthy, viable fat cells are kept for injection.
Injection
The purified fat is injected into multiple layers of the buttocks at strategic points to achieve the desired shape and volume.

The BBL Process
Consultation
Your body fat ratio is assessed; donor areas and target shape are determined together with you.
Anesthesia
Performed under general anesthesia for patient comfort throughout the combined procedure.
Technique
Liposuction, fat processing, and injection are all performed in the same session, taking 2-4 hours.
Duration / Recovery
2 weeks of restricted sitting (using a specialized pillow). Compression garments for 4-6 weeks.

BBL — Your Questions Answered
The risk arises when fat is mistakenly injected into the muscle layer, which can lead to fat embolism. An experienced plastic surgeon injects only into the subcutaneous fat layer, above the muscle. When performed correctly, the risk is significantly reduced.
BBL requires sufficient donor fat. Very slim patients may not have enough — in this case, a silicone buttock implant may be discussed as an alternative. Your fat ratio will be assessed during consultation.
Yes, around 20-30% of injected fat may be reabsorbed by the body in the first months. This is an expected process and is factored into the surgical plan. The remaining fat survives permanently.
Direct sitting should be avoided for the first 2 weeks, using a specialized BBL pillow to support fat survival. Normal sitting is gradually resumed afterward.
